BIOPLASTICS FOR BLOWN FILM EXTRUSION
Flexible, heat-sealable and 100% biodegradable films.
beo is a microplastic-free bioplastic for blown film extrusion applications. It is formulated to integrate into conventional industrial processes and enable the development of flexible films with reliable line performance, consistent sealing and an end of life aligned with new market requirements.
WHY USE BEO FOR BLOWN FILM EXTRUSION?
The performance you need in a film. Without the impact you want to avoid.
With beo, you can develop films with technical performance tailored to your application, while maintaining process stability, uniform thickness and good sealing performance. All of this with a biodegradable material, free from persistent microplastics and designed to meet the functional requirements of each project.
Processing
Compatible with conventional blown film lines, with bubble stability, fine-tuning of process parameters and technical support during start up.
Quality
Good sealing performance, uniform thickness and mechanical resistance tailored to the application, with a consistent appearance and finishes that can be adjusted according to the film’s functional and aesthetic requirements.
Sustainability
End of life designed according to the application, with biodegradable and/or compostable formulations that are free from persistent microplastics and toxic substances.
WHAT CAN YOU MAKE WITH BEO USING BLOWN FILM EXTRUSION?
Films that protect your product and the environment.
beo has already been validated or is currently under development for a range of flexible applications that require in-use functionality and a genuine alternative to conventional plastic:
RECOMMENDED FORMULATIONS
Biodegradable flexible films with technical performance.
These are some of the active formulations for blown film extrusion:
- beo soft film: Opaque white film with a soft touch, designed for bags and agricultural applications.
- beo flex film: Flexible film with a more translucent finish, heat-sealable and intended for packaging applications

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
We answer your questions
If you are still unsure whether your packaging can be developed using our material, we can help you assess its technical viability.
Can it be processed on conventional machinery?
Yes. beo is formulated to integrate into conventional industrial processes. During the initial trials, we adjust the process parameters to optimise material performance according to the technology and application.
Can the material properties be adjusted according to the application?
Yes. We adapt the formulation to meet the technical, mechanical, aesthetic and functional requirements of each project.
Is it biodegradable?
Yes. beo is 100% biodegradable. Depending on the formulation, it can be developed for different biodegradation environments according to the application and intended end of life.
Does it generate microplastics during degradation?
No. beo is designed to biodegrade without fragmenting into persistent microplastics.
What does the industrial validation process look like?
We support you from the earliest trials, adjusting the process and validating material performance under real manufacturing conditions. From there, we optimise both formulation and process until we achieve a stable, reproducible and scalable solution.
Is it heat-sealable?
Yes. Our formulations make it possible to develop films with good sealing performance for flexible packaging applications.
Does it offer sufficient mechanical resistance for demanding applications?
Yes. We adjust properties such as tensile strength, elongation, tear resistance and puncture resistance according to the film’s end use.
Is it suitable for agricultural applications?
Yes. We have developments specifically intended for agricultural films, adjusting both in-use performance and subsequent biodegradation.
Can thickness and flexibility be adjusted?
Yes. We adapt both formulation and process parameters to achieve different thicknesses and levels of flexibility according to the application.
