Bottled Water and Its Hidden Passenger: Micro- and Nanoplastics
A recent innovative study has quantified plastic particles in water sold in plastic containers, revealing the presence of approximately 240,000 fragments per liter. According to a study published in the scientific journal PNAS, this is the first investigation to determine the amount of nanoplastics and microplastics in water. Wei Min, a researcher at Columbia University, emphasized that they have developed a pioneering technique to perform these calculations, applicable to several fields of study.
